I am posting something a little bit different this evening, a 'Get Ready With Me' post, in association with the lovely bunch over at Missguided. With less than two weeks until the Company Style Blogger Awards Event (that Missguided are sponsoring), I seriously need to start planning my final outfit, so this could possibly be one in the running, although perhaps there are a bit more 'Saturday night' vibes going on, so here is also some inspiration should you be planning what to wear for a night out, or an event, this weekend!
THE OUTFIT
Going for "all out glam" I picked this gorgeous and sexy little
Adelais deep V neck bodycon dress from Missguided, which is, of course, perfect for the monochrome trend with contrasting black lace layered on top of a cream/white base. To compliment the dress I have paired with contrasting
Nadia strappy sandals (again in monochrome) and have tried to disguise my lack of cleavage with this
chunky statement perspex necklace from River Island - at least I don't have to worry about anything 'popping out' (this is what I tell myself anyway......*sigh*)
THE FACE
Mascara -
No7 | Perversion Eyeliner Pot, Brush & All Nighter Eyeliner -
Urban Decay
SMOKEY EYES: On a night out I love to make my eyes the feature of my look by using a long lasting eye-liner on both the lids and inside my eyes, along with the addition of some fake lashes to give a dark and dramatic look. The
Urban Decay range of Perversion eye-liners are long lasting and you really can tell the difference compared to a cheap £1.99 liner, especially the
waterproof cream liner that glides on so easily with the quality angled brush, making seductive cat eyes super duper easy, even for those of you that haven't tried a flick before.
GOLDEN GLOW: I think that you either go all out on your eyes or lips, so when going for a heavy lined eye I will always stick to a nude lipstick. I especially think that this works well if you have a tanned 'glow' by using highlighters on both your cheekbones, bridge of your nose, cupids bow and your brow bone. My favourite go to highlighters are from MAC and No7 (pictured and linked under the photo above).
THE BODY
Silk-epil Epilator -
*Braun
HAIR FREE / CARE FREE: If you want to make sure that your legs are silky smooth for an upcoming event, I would definitely recommend giving an epilator a go. Now, I know it may sound scary and painful, which I ain't gonna lie, it kind of is, but when you get the hang of it you don't really notice the pain and the results are SO worth it. The
Silk epil from Braun is cordless and comes complete with 5 different heads to ensure that you have the most comfortable experience and can even be used in the bath - the steam really helps with opening your pores and also takes an edge off the buzz. After my first attempt my legs were smooth for nearly four weeks and when the hair grew back it was not as dense as before. I have only been brave enough to try my legs so far, but you can also epilate your bikini line, underarms and even your face.
Body Polish, Fair Fake Tan, Facial Tanner & Instant Spray Wash off Tan -
*Fake Bake
BRONZED GODDESS: I don't know about you, but I always feel more confident with a tan and feel that it also takes inches off my thighs for creating a slimmer silhouette and also helps to cover up the big bunch of spider and thread veins that are slowly taking over the back of my thighs.
Fake Bake are truly my favourite tanning brand that I have tried so far, they have a vast range of products from fake tan, gradual tan, instant / wash off tans, products especially for your face and even prepping products from moisturiser to exfoliators. Also, the biggest plus is the gorgeous natural golden colour that you get with no streaks and no biscuity tan smell, which my fiance hates, so he is pretty happy that he doesn't have to smell it!
Do you have any favourite products or top tips for getting ready for a night out or event? I would love to hear how you all like to prep and any hints or tips that I can take on when pre-planning.....
