OMG, what a hectic week this has been already and it isn't even Wednesday! I have finally got around to putting together another post for you from Rome, where my Birkenstocks were my second best favourite to trainers for keeping my feet comfy whilst exploring the many beautiful sights. Styled for comfort I wore my chic joggers from Ribbon at Bank with this gorgeous textured 3/4 kimono style top from Paper Dolls at Little Mistress, which reminds me of something you would see in a Zara look-book - BIG thumbs up!

Making my week 100x better are the lovely team over at Boohoo, who have given me the opportunity to #experienceeverything by going to go to see Miley Cyrus's Bangerz Tour tomorrow night at the MEN, I can't say how freakin' excited I am, so THANK YOU!

Wow, what another busy little week this has been! Unfortunately I have been hit with 9 engine faults and an unexpected garage bill, so will be making the most of my weekend by staying in and blogging, hence the Friday night post! Last weekend I went to Edinburgh to see my bestest from Uni, Sanita, who kindly took my outfit pictures and boy, oh boy, did she do a fab job...sorry James! These were actually shot literally 2 minutes around the corner from our old uni halls, which brought back some 'savage' memories from 9 years ago....that really give's my age away doesn't it!

Also last week I went to the Fashion Chick and Creators of Desire re-launch party, where as a VIP competition winner I got to choose this beautiful Reiss leather skirt - can we just take a minute to admire it's amazing'ness' please! Styling with my favourite H&M trench and classic breton stripes in honour of Crew Clothing's 21st birthday celebrations, which unfortunately I couldn't make down to London to celebrate - blogger problems of living in Manchester and working full-time!

If you read my blog regularly, you will also know what a trainer freak I am, so since I was kindly sent THE MOST comfiest Nike Free 5.0+ trainers from sportsshoes.com, they pretty much have been glued to my feet. I am hoping to find the time to do some upcoming fitness posts, so these will definitely be included as they are the 'crème de la crème'for running in.

Oh my, we have been having some AMAZING sunshine lately haven't we! After a day of much needed rest and sunbathing in the garden on Saturday, I put on this loose and comfortable nautical ensemble to nip for a quick drink in the beer-garden around the corner with the boy and the pooch, Brody, who will be coming up in some blog post shots soon - I haven't forgotten him, I promise!

If, like me, you love Zara but sometimes don't want to stump up the cash for some of their beautiful items, then you will love Persunmall. The vertical stripe trousers and Waistcoat that I am wearing are a spit of some current Zara items, but at a fraction of the price; I mean, who doesn't love a bargain?! Speaking of bargains, this cute and colourful snakeskin print bag was abandoned at the product bins near the till at H&M when I popped in on lunch to return a top and at £7.99 it would have been rude not to give it a good home.

P.S Lurch Hound Loves has been short-listed in the 'Best Fashion Blog' category at the Company Style Blogger Awards with Missguided. It would make my day if you could please pop me a vote here (under category number 9) THANK YOU!

OMG, I am actually smiling, must have been excited to be with the girls in Edinburgh! Before going up to re-unite with my uni besties the lovely team over at Wish Want Wear asked if I would like to trial their dress hire service for a 'special occasion', which this definitely was! With £100 rental to spend I spied this LBD by the one and only Hervé Léger; what girl doesn't dream of wearing one of these beautiful bandage creations?!

Ordering your dress couldn't be easier, just select the date you would like to borrow a dress and then browse through the available options in your size and then pick which dress you would like to wear and the four day span you would like it to arrive for. My dress arrived Thursday and was to be sent back on Monday, via the free returns process and box provided, they even print off the label for you making this super duper easy! So, rather than spend money on a dress you will most likely hang in your wardrobe and not wear again, why not spend the same or less money to borrow an amazing designer dress for a few nights? There is NO WAY I could afford to wear a HL, so Wish Want Wear made my dream come true for the night - Thank You!

Yay for monochrome and sports luxe, my favourite ever styling combination: these are two trends that I could seriously live in every single day. So, when the lovely team at Pretty Little Thing asked me to pick a couple of pieces to style up, I had to have this amazing faux leather peak cap and mesh detailed jumper.

Trying to make a masculine sporty look a bit more feminine, I styled this look with a contrasting laser-cut lace detail skirt, rather than wearing with a pair of joggers and jazzed up my neckline with a perspex and jewel statement necklace that I was drawn to like a magnet in the Accesorize Edinburgh store.

Of course, my sporty look would not be complete without my favourite Grafea monochrome backpack and Nike Free 5.0+ to hand.....what look could you wear every day?

Ok, so obviously, I'm not in Paris, but it is Brody's birthday today and I am wearing a cute Paris slogan tee as we celebrate rescuing him two years ago with the help of the lovely team at GRWE. If you have been thinking about giving a pet a new home and perhaps a lovely Lurcher or Greyhound, like Brody, a second chance to have a happy life, then you can find out more about the dog re-homing non-profit charity here.

Our new house didn't feel like a home until this bundle of fur arrived and for the past 24 months he has been constantly putting a smile on my face and making any problem seem irrelevant with just one wag of his tail. So, this post is dedicated to you Brody: HAPPY BIRTHDAY BOY!

Well, don't I just look like I have stuck my finger in a plug socket, with a million or more fly-aways....having a mini nightmare with my hair in the slight humid heat we have been experiencing recently, from the look of it you would think I was in the Tropics, so any hair taming tips would be greatly appreciated :)

Anyhoo, on to more important things, the perfect colour trench for Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in Amsterdam is here and it's PINK! I love the subtle shade of this light weight trench coat and think that it compliments a monochrome palette perfectly. Going for a smart / casual look for all the running around in-between shows at MBFWA (that I will hopefully be doing!), I styled this perfect trench with the greatest fitting pair of skinny jeans, that even give an added 'butt lift' effect, slightly turned up to show off the cool cut of these ankle booties, which have just enough heel to be dressed up and are also not too high for wearing all day.

Adding to the monochrome base of my perfect MBFWA outfit and bringing some texture along with it is this white scuba sleeveless vest top that has an overlay of flower embossed lace: hitting the floral chic nail on the head and the cute embellished ear cuff is giving my left ear some serious street cred.

To be in with a chance of winning an amazing trip to MBFWA, see the details of how to get your entry in before the 29th of May on FashionChick's website here.

If you are yet to jump onto the 'Ugly Shoe' trend, because you have absolutely NO idea how to make them work with you Summer wardrobe, then fear not, you can actually look good in Birkenstocks and a Summer Dress (well, I think so anyway). As they are quite a 'masculine' and clumpy looking shoe, you don't have to feel like Birkenstocks or slides can only be worn with androgynous or sporty looks, you can also 'go all girly' with them too.

I picked my pair of Birkenstock Arizonas up for half price from Zalando, on a spur of the moment discount day that I happened to luckily stumble across whilst searching for a pair on Google, but they usually range from £40-£75 depending on the style that you go for and there are a number of fab choices available on ASOS right now here. Sceptical at first, these are definitely the comfiest pair of slides I have BY FAR - so are definitely worth shelling out a little extra for.

Check me out going all girly for a change! This beautiful cut out detailed Summer dress, which is also perfect for the upcoming festival season, is from the 90's inspired independent brand, Loving Youth, who you can check out here and also find being sold in concessions of Topshop. I wore a tartan two piece from the brand at London Fashion Week AW14, which you can see here.

Have you succumb to the 'Ugly Shoe' trend yet? I actually have an amazing Jeffrey Campbell pair of Chloe metal slide dupes on their way to me, which I will soon be sharing with you all....eeeeeek! (I admit is is ridiculous how excited I get over a style steal, haha!)

There is nothing better than finishing work and coming home to some glorious Summer sunshine to walk in the park with my boy Brody in. This is where I find my down-time in-between working full-time, blogging and then running our little home (well, at least trying to keep on top of my 'housewife duties' the best that I can!). Here Brody and I are "smocking" around in the park together before playing a long game of catch and most likely heading back for a Monday night sofa date with Revenge, Game of Thrones and Made in Chelsea on the box; Mondays are definitely THE BEST TV night of the week!

Cap - PLT (similar here and here) | Sliders - Nike Benassi via ASOS | Underwear - *Triangl

As you all probably know too well, I am addicted to monochrome, so I thought I would share with you a few of my favourite monochrome essentials that will be staples for styling this Summer.....

1. The Leather Cap

I got my faux leather cap from PLT, although I think this style must now be sold out, as I cannot find it on the site any more, but fear not, there are two similar versions you can get your hands on via ASOS here and here. Not usually one to suit caps, I fell hook line and sinker for this beauty (although I am still un-sure as to whether I can pull it off), which you can see me wearing in a sporty monochrome OOTD post here, so I would love to know your verdict...Good....Bad?!

2. The Sporty Sliders

Already with Birkenstocks in the bag, my feet have been craving some kind of sports luxe comfort from the slider offering. Still desperately lusting after this Adidas pair, my monochrome zig zag Benassi sliders are just too comfy and should not be confined to just wearing around the pool.....especially when I am not going on a beach holiday this year!

3. The Underwear Set

If you haven't come across cool Australian underwear and swimwear brand Triangl, then you need to check them out here now! I love how pretty this Isabel set is in Marshmallow, I could just stare at it all day. All that being said, it is also uber flattering on a small chest, like mine, and has actually make me ditch the padding for comfort and embracing 'what my mamma gave me'. This set would also look great styled under some sheer tops this Summer, so I am thinking about getting it in just about every other colour available!

Whistles AW14 blue and green aviator jacketsWhistles AW14 Womens Fashion Press Day PreviewWhistles AW14 Collection review on Fashion BlogWhistles Silver Pointed heels and Fox Clutch BagWhistles Calf Hair Tunic and leather black biker vestWhistles patent pointed toe shoes AW14

Yesterday afternoon I popped into Manchester with the lovely Lindsey from Ropes of Holland to preview the AW14 Women's collection from Whistles, at their King Street Store. On entering, I was immediately drawn to the lovely lilac pieces displayed on the mannequin (top picture), not only because of their effortless and minimalistic cuts, but because of the softness of the colour, it is just so darn pretty. Not one for much colour, I could definitely see myself in all of the lilac pieces in the AW14 collection and can't wait to be wearing this colour later in the year: Whistles, I salute you!

Focusing on a basic palette of blacks and greys, including some amazing leather pieces from skirts to jackets and the 'must have' leather biker gilet pictured above, Whistle's AW14 collection is injected with key pieces from deep greens, purples, light baby blue to dark navy hues and what I would describe as a dirty dusky pink. In addition to chunky knits, textures that give the collection some dimension include fluffy cardigans, furry coats, an insane perforated pony skin dress / tunic that I NEED for my Winter wardrobe (bottom picture on the right) and the dreamy suede and leather aviator jackets, which I would also die to have in my Winter coat collection. It is fair to say that I best start saving so that I can invest in some of these super gorgeous and timely classic pieces for my Winter staples.

Moving onto the accessories, metallics, patents, faux fur accents and pointy toes seem to be on the cards for AW14. I am a little bit obsessed with the shiny pointed mule shoes and sling-backs that were on display, complete with a chunky sole, which would be the perfect addition to any ones' shoe collection for wearing with pretty much anything throughout Autumn / Winter, I just hope that they come in a big enough size for my feet......fingers crossed!

So, sorry if I have got you all dribbling over how perfect this whole collection is, but I am sure your wardrobe will be thanking me come the colder months! The collections will begin to be stocked around September, so keep your eye out for your favourite items hitting your local store or online at www.whistles.com.

NEWS ALERT: For those of you interested in Menswear, Whistles will be releasing their FIRST EVER Menswear range for sale in September this year!

Missguided: Get Ready With Me on Fashion Blog

I am posting something a little bit different this evening, a 'Get Ready With Me' post, in association with the lovely bunch over at Missguided. With less than two weeks until the Company Style Blogger Awards Event (that Missguided are sponsoring), I seriously need to start planning my final outfit, so this could possibly be one in the running, although perhaps  there are a bit more 'Saturday night' vibes going on, so here is also some inspiration should you be planning what to wear for a night out, or an event, this weekend!

Going for "all out glam" I picked this gorgeous and sexy little Adelais deep V neck bodycon dress from Missguided, which is, of course, perfect for the monochrome trend with contrasting black lace layered on top of a cream/white base. To compliment the dress I have paired with contrasting Nadia strappy sandals (again in monochrome) and have tried to disguise my lack of cleavage with this chunky statement perspex necklace from River Island - at least I don't have to worry about anything 'popping out' (this is what I tell myself anyway......*sigh*)

THE FACE
Night Out Make-up Tutorial on Beauty Blog
Mascara - No7 | Perversion Eyeliner Pot, Brush & All Nighter  Eyeliner - Urban Decay

SMOKEY EYES: On a night out I love to make my eyes the feature of my look by using a long lasting eye-liner on both the lids and inside my eyes, along with the addition of some fake lashes to give a dark and dramatic look. The Urban Decay range of Perversion eye-liners are long lasting and you really can tell the difference compared to a cheap £1.99 liner, especially the waterproof cream liner that glides on so easily with the quality angled brush, making seductive cat eyes super duper easy, even for those of you that haven't tried a flick before.

Brushes - Real Techniques | Shimmer Powder - MAC | Lipstick - Clinique | Highlighter - No7

GOLDEN GLOW: I think that you either go all out on your eyes or lips, so when going for a heavy lined eye I will always stick to a nude lipstick. I especially think that this works well if you have a tanned 'glow' by using highlighters on both your cheekbones, bridge of your nose, cupids bow and your brow bone. My favourite go to highlighters are from MAC and No7 (pictured and linked under the photo above).

Braun Silk Epil Epilator review on beauty blog
Silk-epil Epilator - *Braun

HAIR FREE / CARE FREE: If you want to make sure that your legs are silky smooth for an upcoming event, I would definitely recommend giving an epilator a go. Now, I know it may sound scary and painful, which I ain't gonna lie, it kind of is, but when you get the hang of it you don't really notice the pain and the results are SO worth it. The Silk epil from Braun is cordless and comes complete with 5 different heads to ensure that you have the most comfortable experience and can even be used in the bath - the steam really helps with opening your pores and also takes an edge off the buzz. After my first attempt my legs were smooth for nearly four weeks and when the hair grew back it was not as dense as before. I have only been brave enough to try my legs so far, but you can also epilate your bikini line, underarms and even your face.

How to Fake Tan - Fake Bake Review Beauty Blogger
Body Polish, Fair Fake Tan, Facial Tanner & Instant Spray Wash off Tan - *Fake Bake

BRONZED GODDESS: I don't know about you, but I always feel more confident with a tan and feel that it also takes inches off my thighs for creating a slimmer silhouette and also helps to cover up the big bunch of spider and thread veins that are slowly taking over the back of my thighs. Fake Bake are truly my favourite tanning brand that I have tried so far, they have a vast range of products from fake tan, gradual tan, instant / wash off tans, products especially for your face and even prepping products from moisturiser to exfoliators. Also, the biggest plus is the gorgeous natural golden colour that you get with no streaks and no biscuity tan smell, which my fiance hates, so he is pretty happy that he doesn't have to smell it!

Do you have any favourite products or top tips for getting ready for a night out or event? I would love to hear how you all like to prep and any hints or tips that I can take on when pre-planning.....

Body Shop Festival Make-up Review on Beauty Blog

With the Festival season in full swing, I have to admit I was a little bit gutted that I wasn't at home to make Park Life in Manchester this weekend, as it would have been my only chance this year to make it to a festival. So, Instead of enjoying some live music outdoors, I will be posting a mini series of festival inspired posts from beauty to fashion, starting with my festival make-up must-haves from The Body Shop.

The Body Shop BB Cream Review on Beauty Blog

When you are at a festival you want to pack a few fuss free products with you in your make-up bag. So, instead of using foundation, why not try something that is lighter and more hydrating for your skin? Vitamin E Cool BB Cream from The Body Shop provides moisture for 12 hours and smoothes onto the skin with a velvety texture that illuminates the skin and blends into an even tone for a very natural look.

The Body Shop Colour Crush Eye shadow beauty blogger review

An easy way to update your look whilst camping at a festival is to use your finger to smudge eye shadow onto your eye lids or to take a thin brush to wet and apply shadow as coloured eye liner or even some face art! With natural and khaki tones being big this Summer, I love The Body Shop's Colour Crush Eyeshadows in 101 Golden Girl, for creating a golden highlight (especially on the inner corners of the eye for a brightening an awakening effect) and 605 Sweet Pea, for matching perfectly with army prints or a khaki parka jacket.

Festivals are all about having fun right?! Why not show off your daring, care-free side my adding some colour to your hair with The Body Shop's Hair Chalk. Perfect for creating a dip dye effect on either a ponytail or tousled hair, you simply glide the colour pad down the desired section/s of hair and then seal with hair-spray. Then, to remove simply wash out with shampoo: it's that easy!

I am super excited to share with you another gorgeous dress from Three Floor's SS14 collection - the first time I posted about a beautiful Three Floor white dress was from my trip to Rome here - this time adding some colour to my life with the beautiful light blue and navy lace layered Hart to Heart dress. With an asymmetric hem, lace cut-outs and sheer detailing it is like a pretty floral fairytale with a sexy edge. I have fallen hook line and sinker for Three Floor and think that their collection of dresses are perfect for special occasions & nights out, plus their longer dresses are perfect for weddings and other major lifetime events.  Have you tried a Three Floor dress before? I would love to know if you think they're as amazing as I do.

Also, I couldn't resist taking my new fluffy friend out for a test run at my Sister's Wedding party down South last weekend (of course I switched to heels for the big night) and having since found out that it is a bracelet (whoopsie) I wore a lovely gift from the Whistles Press Day last week around my neck - I don't think anyone noticed, well at least I hope not anyway!

Today is part one of two posts in collaboration with Superdry to show you my festival style: For me, I think that jackets are an essential way to pull any look together, so I will be sharing with you in these posts how I would style two different jackets for my #SuperdryFestivalStyle, starting with the denim jacket.

Festivals are all about letting loose and having fun, so I have gone for a rather colourful palette (for me) with statement embellishments and mirrored sunglasses for a fun, carefree, festival look. If wearing sunglasses you don't have to worry about eye make-up, which is perfect is you are camping, meaning that with just a slick of  statement red lipstick you are good to go. And hopefully, should the sun stay out this year, you might even be able to wear a pair of Birkenstock and let your inner hippy run wild!

Are you off to a festival year? If yes, what look will you be rocking? If you haven't found your festival style yet, take a look at Superdry's festival collection here to put the perfect look together.

You may have spotted the shot of my Saucony Jazz trainers in this week's Look Magazine over on page.27, so in homage to my funky trainers I styled up a bright and sporty look that I think even Sporty Spice would be proud of. If I am being honest, I think that the fellow dog walkers probably thought that I had just come straight from a netball match, as we walk right next to a high school and my ensemble was pretty much screaming 'GA', but without the bib!

Have you tried a pair of Saucony trainers yet? If not they are super duper comfy and you can buy a whole range of them from the ever on trend guys at ASOS here.

I have been a bit hectic lately that I have only just gotten around to posting these pictures, which I took a few weeks ago, so I am a little bit late to the open shirt 'wang' party...

I love, love, LOVE this leather tassel jacket from Superdry and will definitely be wearing it as much as I can this summer, I may even have to find an excuse to throw my own festival in my back garden to channel this look! Keeping to an all black palette, I styled with a lace detailed skirt and crop top and accessorised with gladiator flats and mirrored sunglasses.

I completed my tassel and lace look with the addition of this pretty amazing Sydney bag from La Moda, which stands out from the all black ensemble and is the perfect size for fitting in all of your festival essentials - cue lots of dry shampoo, deodorant and baby wipes!
